Re: Scottie's Zuke
My intention was never to do dovetail the SJ anyway just build a new arse end with a more heavy duty structure like in the pics above. I do personally love the dovetail look, its just not suited to something that is being kept road legal. Ah, whoops. Just re-read the original post about the back en...

Re: Scottie's Zuke
Didn't want to say anything for fear of sounding negative, but I think dovetailed zuks don't look right. Glad you're keeping a "classic" zuki arse. :-)

Re: Hybrid Conversion SJ
Cheers! as for the hydrogen, seems a bit ott... I'm good with a spanner or a soldering iron, I'm not really into gas and LPG. Fairy nuff! I'd love to do a conversion myself, to something that's cheap to run. But everything I look at has massive downsides: Biodisel made from local chip shop chip fat...

Re: Hybrid Conversion SJ
I want a vehicle that feels the same to drive as a regular SJ, but for a fraction of the running costs. If its electric then so be it I would consider putting a motor in the middle for an off road plaything/buggy, but I want this to be useable on the road and to feel not much different to my curren...

Re: Hybrid Conversion SJ
Surely a motor that can produce 100% torque from 0 rpm would make gears pointless, hitch the motor straight up to the t-box, no need for a clutch as there is only one gear, and as for reverse, just reverse power to the motor Your idea is very similar to mine! Didn't see your post, I promise I wasn'...

Re: Hybrid Conversion SJ
I wanted to suggest you run one smaller motor per corner. That way you have all the advantages of a difflock, without needing a difflock, and could loose the weight/inefficiency of the gearbox and t-case (which do suck up a LOT of HP/Torque). I doubt it'd work, though, because I *think* a set of 31&...

Re: lockright locker in both diffs?
Thanks, twiss. That clears up some confusion. So Sammies and 413s have the same differentials, just slightly different ring gear ratio? That would mean the locker will definitely fit.

Re: Which Shocks?
So what you're saying is that spendy shocks react more predictably, and can be adjusted where el-cheapos will change how they react based more on how hot they get, and you can get service parts for spendies where el-cheapos might need replacement?

Re: Poly Bushes
Speaking of poly bushes, does anyone know where I can get a custom set? I won't need the "standard" parts since I'm converting to coils...
