The Cyprus rebuild going ok on the LJ . Engine, gearbox, transfer rebuilt, propshafts with new UJs, steering joints done but now comes the problem. I intended to rebuild the steering box, I have got the new bearings seals bush but it looks like the box has been filled with mud and that has pitted the worm drive pretty badly. Has anybody got a tidy worm drive that they want to sell ? ( I know the manual says chuck the old box one away and replace but where's the challenge in that?)

I have at least 8 spare boxes all in good condition. Never had to replace or repair one yet.

Played in a Nicosia scrapyard today with the intention of buying a steering box. But couldn't resist getting a few more bits. So came away with doors, bonnet, tailgate, seats and lots of hard to find odds and sods. my mate acquired the grill, lights and engine bits. A good morning but a shame to leave a battered but solid LJ just sitting there.

Look at that body work! Far too good to scrap!

The wheels look like some that I've seen on a few Daihatsu and they look the wrong way round, but that could just be me. Cant believe how good it looks

I don't know what the wheels came from but I think they were cut and shut jobs, The centres cut out and rewelded the other way round.
