Just a thought, but would it be possible to put a small dampener shock on the loud pedal? No matter how steady my foot is when you start going over bumps in the road it makes it impossible to control the throttle!

By small I don't mean like standard suspension shock small I mean like lids on small boxes small.

A few people have fitted hand throttles in the past.

When I got my SU off Tim Pink he had added an extra spring to the throttle lever to make it snap shut back better... although I replaced the carb with one with a strong spring in it so its now surplus to requirements

A second spring is a requirement in many motorsport events.

Yeah, a throttle not closing can be nasty. A friend of mine had that with an RC aeroplane when we went to fly it once. The throttle servo gave up whilst he was flying but thankfully only stuck half open. He managed to maneuver it in for a landing and then shut the engine down with the remote but I imagine if you get a comp truck with the throttle stuck wide it's a bit more of a problem.

Is the throttle actually sticking? If so then a spring under the pedal won't help that needs to be sorted out. If it's just your foot slipping off the pedal have you thought about some grippier pedals? I had some chunky ones in my 413 and never had a problem.

no no not sticking at all, and it shuts off fine. the issue is (and its less of on issue and more of a thought) that it is oh so sensitive that when you go over bump etc it causes you to accelerate then decellerate in rapid concesion till the car levels out. was thinking of a really small damper kind of thing that would elimate short and sharp changes in acceleration. so if you were to wiggle your foot for example the car would kind of do that kangaroo thing that learners do, a little dampner to take that edge off would be great, especially with the roads round me that are really rocky and less muddy.

I know on my loud pedal I have a spring on the actually pedal which I think chaneges the force to push the pedal down? I dont know so im probably wrong!

what oil have you got in the SU damper? the dashpot oil and spring should absorb some of it
