LJ80 distributor/fuel pump housing..

Post by Kiffer » Mon Jan 27, 2014 9:00 am

Well its rain stopped play here in Cyprus, as we have had weeks of sunshine, I thought I'd ask another question. The housing for my distributor/fuel pump is the opposite way round to any other LJ80 that I've seen i.e. the pump is the same side as the exhaust and the distributor same side as carb. Making the points hard to adjust. The pump only has one inlet and one outlet, yet there are 2 pipes returning to the tank. When I bought the LJ the gearbox and engine was covered in oil which was running out of the distributor, I think I have fixed this with O rings. Question, is this a housing off another vehicle i.e. Suzuki Carry? and is the single outlet pump going to coarse me any problems, i.e. flooding carb as I presume the other pipe is a return. thanks in anticipation Kiffer

Well it looks like your correct.
The "carry st90" model has what you describe.
Looks like the fuel return is direct from the carb.
If it has the original carry carb on still fitted.
