Sj410 4speed conversion 1.6 16v vitara engine?

Alright! Completely new on this bit was hoping I could get some answers, looking to upgrade to a 1.6 however I don't think it's as simple as most swaps because I have a 4 speed gearbox? Basically I need to know exactly what I need to get to do this swap? And what difference the 8v and the 16v have? Any help much appreciated! Cheers!
