What is the least amount of wiring that needs to be done to start a 413 engine? As in, there are no lights or side repeaters connected, horn, wiper motor, thermometer sender, etc. I cant get my 413 engine running and was wondering what is the minimum wiring required for starting.

All I have is the starter motor, coil and dizzy wired in, and that is all. That should be enough to start an engine surely? (and the battery of course)

That should do it if you don't have a fuel stop solenoid. Which you won't if you have the SU.

It is advisable to wire up the oil pressure switch too so you know there is oil pressure.

i asked tim, the starters clicking, so probably either a dying starter or a shit starter wire

ive advised him on how to test it, and the clicky starter relay fix, it was just easier on facebook :P

Do you have a good earth? Can cause a clicky or one click starter motor, failing that try another battery.

yeah if its the main earth lead it tends to click and then all your electrics go off! haha

my truck was doing it last night so had to do a bit of late night rewiring!

Before she goes back in for an MOT the whole thing is getting re-wired, every wire everywhere will get replaced, was just hoping to get it into a drivable state before tackling that, but if i cant work this out that job might get pulled forward to solve any earthing issues!
