Just wondering what the benefits of putting a vitara engine in a sammi are.Does it improve the MPG and does the top end speed increase by much.I'm having second thoughts about selling my sammi now,its running pretty good now and i even got 70mph out of it on the m42 today, its mainly the fuel consumption thats putting me off keeping it now and i was going to get a vit but then my mind started whirring and i thought i'd see if it was worth doing the engine transplant or not. What do you reckon?

hi a have a sammy and a vit the vit is a 1.6 8v efi and i gat about 35mpg out off it and it will sit at 70mph all day long but not as good as the sj off road in stander form but is batter on the road. a gat about 32mg out off my sj but it has a top speed off 65 because i have a 410 box fitted so it depans on what you want more if you what speed and mpg than a vit is what you wont but if its off road parfromace you waht than a sj is best as for putting a vit engine into a sj i cant say havet dun it yet but it is on the lest off things to do if i had to gast at what woud happen i say u would have same mpg as the sj but gane a litte speed my be 10-25mph hope this halps

ok you have a 1300cc an you wanna put a 1600cc in hum well the running cost will in cress as is a larger enging with bigger pistons demanding more petrol. boo! downer.

upper!!! bigger pistons more grunt! it will get up them hills, but it ant all a bout wheel spin it will allso help when come in back down as the engin breaking is more.
also you will be abel to pull a lany out thats set up 2 the windows is all about the toruqe.
ie 410 0-40 straight line 5sec up hill 8sec
413 0-40 straight line 5sec up hill 6sec
vit 0-40 straight line 4sec up hill 4sec
this only a made up for you not fact but to show the diff between them, as gear box an t box all change your toruqe.

are horses maybe look at it this way.
one horses an a cart 410 only gos a fast as a horse can an half as fast up a hill
two horses an a cart 413 still only gos as fast as a horse can but dont slow for a hill.

i have a 1.6 8v vit lump with a 410t box 413 5speed box an paddel clutch i get 80mph top think it will go more but i dont think the rust will hold on.
