Well apart from the high gears, crap front diff, crap shafts, like to rot on the rear chasis rails, the heads like to crack, they like to poor oil out of the dissy housing.

They are also a pain in the rear to work on!

(all of the above is from my own experiences)

Apart from that they are ok. But offroad you will soon go back to your sj once you have smashed the front diff in the vit.

yeah they have similar rot problems like the sj (sills and rear quater panels) they are not bad off road but not as good as sj's! I suppose thats why they are cheaper, they are better than sj's on the road, petrol wise I think they do 25-30mpg they are way more comfortable and significantly faster than std sj's! although the front diff is a weak point it should be easily strong enough for light off road dutys like greenlaning, and Some people swear by vitara's, (k9rdj for example http://www.k9rdj.co.uk/)
