My Vitara - work in progress

Thought I would start a bit of a build page even tho most of the work has already been done now.

I've owned my Vit for 3 years now and these are some pic from the weekend:

Thanks all, glad you like my work!

I've done a lot to it over the years as it was totally standard when I bought it spray from a set off off road tyres as the lady who owned it used it to get to her horses.

Here's a list of the things I've done so far but the "to do" list is just as long lol


My mods so far:

Body/cab-

Homemade snorkel
Homemade front winch bumper
Breather pipes
T max winch 9500lb
Re cut and welded standard Vit bull bars - homemade
Homemade diff skid plan
Homemade transfer skid pan
Homemade rear diff skid pan
Homemade front recovery points – copied the vits 4 vits one!
Homemade rear bumper
Homemade petrol tank skid pan- Petrol fill cap moved inside cab
Homemade rock sliders
All arches cut back for the bigger wheels
Defender plastic arches
Homemade roof rack for the waffle boards which came off a building site that I cut to size
4 x spot lights
Bonnet pins
Homemade spare wheel bracket
CB
Vectra front seats
Back seats removed
Work light fitted
Volt monitor
Front brake line mounts moved


Engine –

Homemade straight through exhaust with cat removed
Sealed cone air filter
Extra water bolt that cleans the radiator
Twin battery’s with cut off of in cab
Twin transfer box

Suspension Rear
Rear 5” lift from-

3” lift springs
Spring spacers 1.5”
2x standard spacers
Heim spacer
Astara gte shocks
Bits 4 vits (B4V) shock relocation brackets
2” box section top shock extension
Homemade bump stop extensions
B4V prop spacer

Suspension Front
GV springs
Spring spacers
B4V strut spacers
B4V shock extensions
Hagen widening mod - this took me ages!
Stubby drive shaft conversion
Full poly bushes all round
Idle arm strengthen bracket – homemade
Steering damper – homemade
B4V drive shaft spacer
B4V caster correction bushes
Camber bolts

Rear brake conversion
Rover 600 callipers
Rear diff brake line guard

ARB rear diff locker
Grand Vitara front steel diff
B4V drive shaft nylon bush

Grand Vitara 16” wheels with special tracks
Wheel spacers all round

Also I've fitted a front ARB locker and the drive shafts are made up from Shogun shafts, although these are coming out when a do a live axle conversion - means I'll be living in the garage again for a few month!

Thanks you would not believe how much time, I'm no mechanic and try and do everything myself but every job has taken me twice as long as I thought and sometimes longer. I do love my vitara so its all been worth it until something breaks then I hate the vitara lol
