I went trialling

Joined the awdc last month and went to my first trial at west harptree yesterday.

It was loads of fun so I'm gonna start going every month. The sj did pretty well but I cocked up pretty early on in 2 sections giving me quite a few points. still don't think I did too badly for my first time, cleared one section all the way and got to the second from last gate 2 others. ended the day with 33 points out of 100  (less points the better if you have never been trialling ;) )

Gotta get some narrower more aggressive tyres and get my cage fitted to give me some more grip and a bit of safety!

This is the last two gates of the last section, almost made it, the tree gave me a nice dent in the bonnet as well

Still did better than this guy in the same hole :hahaha:

Looks fun that mate. I'm guessing that everyone has purpose specialist vehicles for this type of thing. Yours is still sort of ok for daily use isn't it?

Yeah I think I was one of two vehicles that drove there and back all the rest were trailered

Think my sj surprised a few of the guys there as well, my father said they were all chatting saying once it went into this mud section I wasn't getting back out on my tyres. I drove straight through, then proceded to slide sideways and miss the next gate thanks to the tyres

not bad for your first go bud. I was thinking about doing something different as there is only so many pay and play days you can attend too.

Awesome fun...takes me back to the early 90s when I was a member of the AWDC. Really good fun...couldn't get near the purpose built stuff though. But there is something really cool about driving to a site, taking part in a trial and driving home..then driving the same truck to work the next day. Enjoy 8-)

Awsome job! Shoulda said you were heading up man I would of popped up, its only a 15 minite drive from mine!

My mate lives a house/farm directly opposite with a rotten sj chucked behind a barn, I expect they would of donated that to you if anything went wrong running gear wise.

Weres the next one too?

Sounds awesome Scott.

So how does it work? As AWDC have events through out the UK.

Is there a local events and national events group? Or can you just turn up at any event?

I guess you are in the RTV class?
