I don't belive any air filter makes a noticeable improvement on the SJ. I jntend to swap back to a standard air box as it was to add a snorkel to and also easy to waterproof.

The intake manifold is the main restriction on the intake side of the engine as far as I know.

Air filters make no difference to the engines so best to stick with the cheapest option aka standard!

He's got a vit :) and I wouldn't bother tbh spend it on something useful a snorkel if you want to go wading or a cheap lift (rover & merc springs).

I would never use a K&N style air filter on an offroader. paper or foam only.

There's a reason they allow more airflow and that is because they don't actually filter out the finest dust, fine on a road car but not really what you want in an off roader that could be used in dusty environments.

I swapped to an aftermarket airfilter on my old vit and didn't notice any difference, in fact I swapped back to the original airbox after a short while.

Standard with snorkel it is then, thanks guys.
I was reading about the rover and merc springs but couldn't find which ones to use or anybody that's actually done it,I've got till beginning of next month to decide(that's when she gets paid)between bigger springs or spring spacers

grand vitara springs will fit aswell and will give you 1.5" lift.
if you go above 2" lift on the springs you may start encountering problems due to the vits design but im running 3" lift without too many issues.

I'd like to test one properly but I don't know anyone that doesn't already run a snorkel.
