My new custom silencer

Post by dan_2k_uk » Wed Aug 14, 2013 8:03 pm

.

Truck is sat outside full of cooling system crack filling drugs.

It needs to tick over for an hour so thought I would save my neighbours the deafening and fitted a "custom silencer" to quieten the cherry bomb.

Wish me luck... It WILL be out to play this weekend!!

That's the funniest thing I've seen all day.
There's three ways of doing things:

The right way,
The wrong way
And my way, which is like the wrong way but faster.

There are photos in my build thread.

I just built it back from the flange at the old mid joint.

Cut it really close to the flange before it starts to bend and gets restrictive.

When I first did mine, I chopped the flange (+ 4" of pipe) off an original (knackered) back section, then welded flexy pipe onto the flange pipe, then welded the other end to the cherry bomb...

Easy peasy! Although its better to find a pipe bender and bend a bit of pipe to the right shape, rather than using flexy pipe
