other than the bits needed to do a normal 8v conversion like a 413 box, flywheel, starter etc..

what else is needed?

I know I would need a sammy fuel tank with fuel pump built in..

Yeah as already been said loom and ecu to start. If you get a vitara fuel tank there is a tapped ring which the fuel pump mounts this can be swapped over to the sj tank you will see there is a pressing on the sj tank just drill a 70mm ish hole in the centre of it and weld down the ring and your sorted. Fuel lines will need to be replaced I re worked the donor vitara lines to fit my sj. Its much easier to get a donor vehicle then you can swap everything over and then sell the rest of the parts not needed. Some people fit the vss from the vitara clocks but I aint and it runs well. Heres a pic of mine when I just fitted it

The rad is a 42mm 2 core alloy 'racing' one from a honda civic they are very small and fit nicely with a few simple brackets and it only cost £70 new from ebay but you can get standard civis rads for half that new and they are designed to cool a 1800 vtec . I also used a cooling fan from an escort rs turbo as again they are very compact but powerful and very easy to mount heres some pics

Blue wires and hoses. It's a well known fact of science that those make a car go faster. As does red paint and flames.
