Can anyone recommend a grease gun suitable for the grease nipples on propshaft UJs?
Mine are pretty tight to get to and the nozzle on my current gun is too large to get onto the nipple.
Anyone know of one that does fit?

ive had this problem before as well. I got the end of the grease gum machined down to fit in between the ujs. However, it still didn't do for all of em and I had to remove the props to fully grease em up

I just use non greasable UJs, problem solved.
If you get good UJs like the original KOYO ones they are double sealed and last forever. I've got LJ props that are 30+ years old in the workshop with UJs that are still perfect.

Hmmm... yeah I've been having to take them out to grease them too.
If no one had any better ideas I was going to try and turn a nozzle on the lathe to suit.
I think there may not be a huge amount of life left in one of them anyway so I'd be interested in the part number for the sealed one too!

yeah I managed to get a fair amount off on a lathe but it was only good enough for a few of the joints. worth a shot though

I believe you can get angled nozzles for grease guns, and these might be able to just make the turn into the UJ.
Other option is to get a greaseable UJ, with the grease nipple sticking out the end of one of the caps. I think one of mine has this, but I can imagine them getting smashed off sooner or later

I got a set of UJs that had the longer nipples on them, I had to swap them for shorter ones because they would have got torn off because of the extra suspension travel. I have to drop the prop at the rear to get the grease gun in.

Thanks Rhinoman. I'm quite happy to have to drop the prop to grease it.
I've tried doing that with mine (I actually took the prop completely off) but the nozzle of my grease gun still won't squeeze on. I just took the nozzle off to try and turn it down on the lathe but there's just not enough meat on it.
I don't suppose you happen to remember where you got your grease gun from do you?

Is it possible to swap the grease nipple for a long one just for greasing and then put the stubby one back in.
