Double ball joint rod end thing?

Anyone know where I can get one of these rod ends that has two ball joints in it?

I think this is one of those occasions where it's proving really hard to find because I don't know the proper name for it :er:

I've made a steering tie rod / drag link (everyone seems to have different names for it) and I previously used a Vitara (I think) part which I modified. Unfortunately the ball joints now need replacing. Ideally I'd like to just cut the part marked in red in the picture off and weld a replacement on but can't find anything suitable.

There seem to be plenty of the conventional ball joint rod ends around but none like this?

Anyone know what its proper name is or even if you can buy them on there own?

Thanks!

You can definitely get these... I think maybe Darrell (?) posted a place where you can buy them online... I think they are about £60-70 roughly? Thats just a guesstimate though!

Bloody hell! £60-70 sounds quite expensive!

I'll try a main dealer maybe *empties wallet*

Its the tie rod. The only place I've found one for sale (new) are these guys (well apart from Suzuki)
http://www.euro4x4parts.com/parts/dro12 ... joint.html

No idea what the p&p would be.
105 Euro Ex
126 Euro if the tax is still 20 percent?
£110

Best see if you can find a second one first..

There are 2 sizes depending on width . IE SJ or Samurai axles..

Thanks Darrell,

That's the same place I found. It's annoying because I obviously don't want to have to buy a whole expensive tie rod when normal ball joints are so cheap. It just seems to be a bit of a stupid design really.

Nevermind, I think I'm just going to make one with changeable ball joints instead! :weld:

Yeah bear in mind that they can fail you if you do welding on your steering components...

Cutting and welding old steering components is a no-no. Making brand new components from scratch is fine as far as I'm aware.

Mot guide just says:

Check for inappropriate modification or repairs, especially by welding, or evidence that excessive heat has been applied, to steering components or structural members
