afternoon all. im toying with the idea of a twin battery setup for lighting and inverter etc etc. that part is fine but what's a decent uprated alternator that does require too much electrickery to fit and get running?

Pretty sure connecting to batteries in series you will be having 24 volts which ain't good!

Basically when you fire it up the system searches for the two batteries and you then get a green light come up saying there linked together (my engine was off when the picture was taken)Then once engine is running the alternator charges the first cranking battery up to where it should have about 13.5-13.8 once it has charged that battery up it fires the solenoid and then swaps over and charges the auxiliary/second battery. Then if for example your cranking battery fails and you cannot start your engine it then links back across the auxiliary battery and started your engine off that. then once your running it then swaps over and charges the cranking battery that has failed.

Its hard to explain but its worth every penny!!!

Dont flame me ,but i have twin batteries on mine and a manual switch to change which battery you want to use/charge.
I didn't set it up ,it was on there when i got it so i just keep one on permanently and when i know i am going to need the other one ill switch it over and charge it up on the way to wherever i am going.
I will look into it one day and see exactly what he's done to achieve this as id like to know.!
Cheers

if you fitted a voltmeter you could do what the split charger does yourself, when your everyday battery it hits its peak charge flip a switch and pull your second battery in.....
