Today and yesterday I had trouble with my carb I tried starting my sj the startor motor was spinning and engaging and there is fuel going to the carb and it fired up after 2-3 mins of turning the key and it fired up choke was out purhapse my carb needs cleaning it started alright in the morning drove it to college at 9.00 and then I started it at dinner time at 1.00 drove it 3 miles to the postoffice to get a pastie and then tried starting it but it wouldn't I tried pumping the accelerator and I didn't help and after a couple of attempts it started.
Also I was going offroad and the sj stalled as I was in 2nd gear and it wouldn't start then so I got out and.gave it a.push jumped in and it.only just starter
It starts allright when.cold but if its a bit warm it won't start
I have.heard the a rover metro Su carb will fit straight on a 410 manafold just got to dril a hole out abit
If anybody has a su carb for a 410 that they will be willing to sell I'm willing to buy it

First step give it a strip down and clean. 410 carbs are awesome little carbs, no need to upgrade in my opinion.
However I don't think it's your carb if it doesn't do it when cold.
Did you put new points and a condenser on it during the rebuild? If not do that and make sure the gap on the points is correctly set. It's only £10-15 for them both.

Points and condensor I'm only 18 Scottie what are they
I didn't rebuild the engine I bought a better one of a mate which he had just removed from a working 410 and I just wacked it in my sj
I might have a better look Saturday afternoon give the carb a clean and go from there

Sorry they are both components in the dizzy, you'll need a set of feeler gauges to set the points up

maybe try the ones in your old dizzy if you still have it?

You don't need a new dizzy, just points and a condenser

they are the only parts of your dizzy that will ever really need replacing. I used to carry a set of feeler gauges at all times just in case the points gap needed adjusting

it was rare but always the first thing I would check if it started running badly.
did you keep your old engine?
