shackle angle on lift springs problem?

Just got some 3 inch lift springs off ebay (second hand) i'm not sure on the make but i just put one side front on and ran into a couple of problems!
The angle of the shackle was what i first noticed. Its on the angle it should be, only facing the wrong way! the next problem is the middle bolt holding the leaf pack together, to get this lined up means the axle will have to move back about an inch? which for obvious reasons i could do without!
Is it not as simple as buy springs and bolt them on? or am i going wrong somewhere?

Are you sure you have a right springs in the right places and the right way round? Stick up a photo of the springs and someone might identify them.

If they are too short and rock hard they sound like iron mans :D

Dan and scott, the extremes of shackle angles one way and the other!!!

You'd think you'd spot the springs being on backwards as the rear bush is bloody huge.

No weight on them yet, was about to try but i thought with the angle the shackles on it might work very well.

Even if i could get the bolt where its meant to be, that shackle angle wont be much use will it? i would still need to sort sort something out for that

Blimey! They are a bit short aren't they!!! They look pretty similar to Dans Iron Mans... when you put weight on them, they might end up vertical like his

I'll go try that now, what do you think of the iron mans dan? if they're shit i'll leave them off and sell them! shouldnt really be spending my on insurance savings on springs anyway haha

Ive not used them myself but Ive been told they are good apart from being rock hard! But then again I ran add-a-leaves for years and they are pretty solid!

ironmans are firm but do flex well. when the springs have weight on them they should flatten out more and as they do the spring gets longer so the pin and shackle will move forwards.

I would personally pull the bottom leaf out of each spring until they soften up a bit an then put it back in.
