Hello lindsey, welcome to the forum. Is this your first suzuki? Well done on choosing the softtop, its a brilliant feeling having the wind in your hair. Do you have any more photo's? What do you plan on doing with this jimny? Are you a road driver or will you be hitting the trails?

I'd have thought most people on this forum would say, start with some good off road tyres then get out there and see how you get on with it. These little trucks are pretty robust and should be capable enough out of the box. Once you've had some fun prioritize what you want, people fit lift kits to make the arches bigger so you can fit bigger tyres, others choose winches & rollcages. I've heard a transfer box conversion is quite popular if your going to be doing lots off road work, along with uprating axle internals. It's up to you..... but I'd start with the tyres

Tyres to start, I'd like it lifted a bit anyways but like you say need to get out n have a good go first, see what it's capable of n how far I can push my self, should get it out the garage in next day or 2, getting all oils replaced n new cam belt, had brakes done just before I got it, it's on a 02 plate but the soft top did attract me, will let ya know how I get on n wat work it eventually gets done. Liking the site tho! Thanks

Hi and
As has already been said I would get some decent tyres on it first and see how far you want to go.
A suitably sized set for a standard height Jimny will be cheap new of if its just for a bit of a taster you can pick up a set off ebay on some old rims really cheap.
Then once you get out and start having a play you can see how you want to progress.
If you keep getting stuck on the diffs then bigger tyres will be in order, or if you keep breaking the plastic bumpers maybe some metal ones instead etc etc.
Keeping the tyres closer to standard size will also keep stress on the transfer box to a minimum (they are known to be a weak point on the Jimny as they are chain driven) and then if you decide to go bigger you can plan to upgrade the transfer box with a SJ one at the same time.

Hi
to
My son in law has a Jimny, they are a capable little truck off road even in standard form. As said just gt a decent set of tyres for it and then see what sort of mods you want

Welcome to the forum!
Can't be that clueless, you bought a Suzuki!
As said a slightly bigger tyre with a good off road bias pattern and see how it goes. Loads of aftermarket Jimny bits available now all depends on budget and what kind of off roading you intend to do.
I think most of our trucks have evolved as the off roading we do got harder/stupider/better.
