My sj has a fuel tank made up in the back the car always seem a to bog down randomly as if petrol is not getting to the carb so I cut it open to see what was inside I found I pipe that's down to the bottom will a gauges that seems to be blocked up which I am sure this is the problem would I be better to cut this out and have just a open pipe about an inch or so of the bottom of the tank to stop it sucking up as much crap I have two in line fuel filters one just after the tank and one between the pump and the carb I have taken some pictures to show
I only want to fix it so I can use it for a month or so am in the middle of measuring up for a custom alloy tank which I am going to make up at work many thanks

The standard tanks have a metal gauze on the bottom of the pick up just to filter out any large crap, as you run 2 filters and open bottom pick up should be ok as long as you give the tank a good clean out
