I'm quite lucky and managed to find a unit that is damn cheap for it's size. I don;t really want to share how much that I pay for it though.
Your best bet is to find a farm with converted outbuildings etc as these tend to be a lot cheaper than small industrial estates and business parks. It all depends where in the country you are as well, I know a guy over in Hampshire who has a unit on a small business park that is about half the price of most business parks around where I am.
When I was looking around most places wanted around £120 a month for something with electricity that you could barely get 2 cars in then about £200 for a larger unit that you could get about 3 cars in.
Just do lots of searching and phone around, also you need to make sure that you find somewhere that isn't subject to business rates like a lot of units are as you aren't going to be running a business out of it and that will knock the price up a lot!

yea me and dan2k gave up looking as anything we found local and suitable was £300-£500
a month... would be ok if we were running a business but not for just weekend use.
we found plenty of garages for rent for 50-100 month but no power, lights, or noise allowed!
like scottie said best bet is to go ask local farmers about renting their unused outbuildings.

Also check how much the standing charges for the electricity supply are.. For a business it can be about £1 a day.. If you can get it changed to a domestic supply it comes down to about £0.24p a day.
(Get a contract to say it's a domestic garage if you can)

My unit is 26ft x 28 ft + electric so nearly twice the size and I need more space.
How much have you been quoted?

I think mines about 22x30ft and I could definitely do with more space. Starting to think I should rent another bay
