Hi folks really hope you can help?

Basically when my sj 413 is sitting without the engine running I can select and go through the gears fine. When I start the engine I cannot select any gears at all.
I can select high/low range but just cannot select any gears when engine is running.

Recently put in a replacement engine.

Any ideas folks? Thanks

Sounds like clutch has gone. Did you put a new one in when you swapped engine?

Did you swap the clutch over from your old engine to the new engine?

Im wondering if it just needs adjusting, crawl underneath and tighten the adjuster on the end of the clutch cable as much as you can by hand.

I had that trouble bought another engine and popped it in and it would get into gear when engine running so took out gearbox and replaced clutch and then found a 5 speed box for my 410 and then wiped it back.together and it works fine and I'm sure it wasn't.the old gear box as it was working with the old engine but the clutch was shot

I have no idea why I didn't check the clutch before I wacked it in

I went under the carthis morning and there is loads of play in the clutch cable. Also the adjuster nut at the end of the cable isnt tight.
