Just been on a forum for 4x4 vehicles of another flavour...

The discussion was about the high number of 4x4 vehicles being stolen..

So anyway the topic turned to trackers. and several companies were mentioned but Skytag came out on top.

I think we have all spent a lot of money on our trucks and would hate to lose them..

They make them sound all good! My friend had one on his MOD 90 and he got texts saying his landrover was heading up the A24 (local road for me) but it wasnt it was sitting in his garage four feet away from him it has happend twice now , i think they are good if they are work but i wouldnt put one in my truck as 1. ill probably brake it 2. it will get drowned and 3. my truck is in my garage with a mag lock on the door and 4 cctv cameras hooked up to a recorder

i do think its a good idea but it does cost a bit to have it but it will be worth it

mine is in my garage to but some times with keys in but i do hide the isolator key so they cant start it they could jump start it but it is a bastard to push on flat level ground as it hasnt been on the road for 3 years

Yeah i have an isolator aswell and a series of switches you need , aslo in front my my garage is the discovery and across the drive is my dads van (garage is at the top of narrow drive) , basically you have no chance of nicking mine but i guess some people aint that lucky have to leave theres open and then some un plesent person comes along and boom its gone in seconds shame really!

When my nova got stollen last year I looked at trackers but ones that held SIM cards so u can track it yourself. But what happens of its stollen and loses signal so that put me off

Im in the process of creating a chain that is mounted to the floor that goes round the steering wheel I also have a hidden cut out switch and a baseball bat steering wheel lock I think that should hold them off lol!

I'd rather not have someone knowing where I am and how fast I am going

Mine has an immobiliser of sorts, not mentioning it on here though its a public forum anyone can see.
However I don't have a choke so you aren't going anywhere for at least 5 minutes of sitting there with it warming up or it'll splutter and die it's quite loud so I'd hear it before they got anywhere

Most people these days don't know what a manual choke is. I bet one of my friends £10 once after she'd been sat outside college for 6 hours that he couldn't start my truck. Safe to say I won myself a tenner.
