Need some assistance please on how to match a paint colour

A small problem is looming because I'm going to have to get some welding work done on one of the rear door hinge mounts on my 410 which has become very rusty and is delaminating in to a total crusty mess. No problem with this as I know a very good welder but the previous owner of my vehicle had it sprayed a sort of army green - but it isn't really army green if you know what I mean. He says it was called Rover green - but apparently there are many versions of this loose colour description, so when the welding is done, I don't know where to begin on getting paint to match for covering the welded area.
I'm more of a mechanical sort of person and paint definately isn't my subject!
