My RH headlight goes out on dip... Well you say go and get a new bulb:-) so I did! Mmm new bulb fitted but still no dip beam.. Full beam ok.. Has anyone had this prob before? LH dip is ok.. Is the dip fused independently on each side..

Could be something like a dodgy wire. Bad earth?
Mine was flashing hazards when i braked and had side lights turned off. Since then i've had battery disconnected and replaced clutch and gearbox but the electrial fault has gone.
I'd grab a multi meter and start at the light end to see if there is power. Just work back along the loom checking everywhere it connects.
Fuse wise, fairly sure dip beam is the same at side light fuse so there will be a left and right fuse but this would affect all the lights down one side.

I doubt its an earth ad th earth is common for both dip & full, i'd check where you cable devides for each light unit. I imagine this will be either at the switch or it will be daisy chained from one light fitting to the other,

I thought I replied to this, something must have happened. My SJ did this and it turned out to be a wiring problem. The lights are 'daisy-chained' follow the wiring for the lights and check they're okay and if you've got some spare wire, like, say, an old power lead from a dyson
, use that as a flying lead to try and find between where and where the problem lies.
On mine it happened to be an inch down the wire from the bulb plug on the live side of the dip beam.

Thanks to all your help and advice I found two breaks in the red with white stripe wire. One was a couple of inches from the headlight. The other was more difficult to find but it was where the loom runs beside the battery box before dissapearing through the firewall. If the battery has leaked at all this area is a mess. Worth checking this area if you have the same problem. You have to remove the heavy duty plastic wrap as well as the tape to see this cluster but if you have one headlight working on dip then the fault cant be in the switch as the wire is common to both headlights.
