engine options?

hello, my sj413 engine is about to die, smokes more than a hippy and has as much power as a hair dryer.....also the gearbox is almost dead.... hard to get gears.
anyway, ive been offerd a 1.3 and a 1.6 both with gear boxes. just wondering whats best?

is it going to be easy? ive been reading a few threads on here and sounds like a bit of work, could i do it in one day?

it one of the easiest conversions i would say it could be done in a day if you had all the stuff ready togo!

1.6 all the way! Are you sure your clutch just doesn't need adjusting and oil changing in the gearbox if its hard to select gears?

ive changed the oil and i can hear the clutch rattling ... the car runs like a dog, how much would it cost to convert to 1.6?

you can pick up the 8v engines from £0(high miles) to £200(lowmiles) and gear box about£0 to £60 tops!
and people say about the conversion plate about not using one personally i would use one there about £60 tops

what does the plate do? is it just a better fit?
