Torch
Electrical tape
Fuses
Spare length of cable
Radiator cement
Fan belt
Short length of fuel hose and clips
No mars bar (I would scoff it straight away)
Assortment of tools
Jump leads
Straps & shackles
Gloves & disposable gloves
Heater hose & clips
First aid kit
Seems I've collected a lots of crap over the years
Few spare nut & bolts
HT lead from coil to dizzy
Wheel brace
Rags
WD 40
I bet there's more

Much as mentioned above with the inclusion of...
BOG ROLL!!
baby wipes
Hi-lift jack (I use mine regularly and if you don't have a winch its the next best thing)
air compressor
Fire extinguisher
spare spark plug and lead (longest one)
small spade
waffle boards
midgie repellant
Sun cream
if you took everything you might need you'd need a trailer though!
I usually just go to pay and play sites and leave the spares in the van but I take springs, transfer boxes, clutches, distributors, half shafts, you name it!

Depending on weather conditions I'd add spare clothes and a towel wrapped in bin bags to keep them dry.
Jerry can 1 with fuel 1 with water
Cambelt
Socket set
And attach recovery ropes to truck before getting stuck.. Nothing worse than having to crawl around in cold wet muddy holes trying to attach ropes to be recovered

I think if your going alone its a good idea to have a high lift jack, a recovery strop & I have a folding shovel too
