Is my SJ bigger than it should be?

I've been planning to overhaul my suspension and keep it the same hight as it is at the moment.
My SJ was sold as having a 2 inch shackle lift. I was recently given some stock shackles, when compareing the two I noticed that my current shackles seem a bit more than 2" bigger. The "stock" shacles I have measured 3" bolt to bolt and my exteneded ones 7" bolt to bolt.
Are my current ones a 4" lift? Or are the new ones lower that stock?

When using shackles the lift is only half the distance they have been extended past stock as you are only moving one end of the spring. So a 4" longer shackle = 2" lift

The new ones you've pictured are standard shackles, get them on and scrap those hideous things that are fitted!

Nahhhh, chop the big ones down to make smaller ones!!! 1" lift from shackles is ok :)

When you see them pictured side by side like that you realise just how silly huge shackles really are!
