I've well n truly raped my clutch
Any brands people would recommend?
Or any set ups that have fixed the dreaded clutch problem on an sj?
This is my daily drive so I wasn't gonna go for a competition one

What dreaded clutch problem? My samurai have been fine!

I put a cheapy £60 ebay clutch (3 piece kit) in mine when I swapped the 1.6 engine into it. That was 4 years ago, never had any problems with the clutch.
(Apart from when I got it full of mud and had to wash it out)

If it's your daily drive I would agree about not getting a comp clutch as they are very on/off. A nightmare in stop start traffic!
They're dead easy to replace as well

i went for a valeo 3 peice at £69 and touch wood all is good

This is my first clutch in 4years, so I can't really complain, I've just been told by many current n old sj drivers that it's a problem area
Yeah I've had that problem of it slipping in deep mud and properly deep snow
But was just wondering if there was any way to make them a bit more resilient

ive got a a paddle racing clutch in mine , trouble is the biting point is right at the top of it , as twiss says i dont think it would be recomended for road use

Make sure the mud guard is installed properly on the front of the gearbox

I give it a wash through with a hose after off road days

cant you just shove some clutch cleaner up in there though >

I take the timing cover off the gearbox, and hold a hosepipe pointing into it with the engine running

It's amazing the amount of mud/crap that will come out from under the mud guard!!!
