Sj owner in Kent (416 KJA)

Hello fellow mad people

My name is Ian, and i am a suzuki holic

have had several suzuki's over the years, and now have returned with a 413 KJA (lwb pick up for those not in the know)

unlike a lot of people, I didn't have any issues finding the right truck for me, i knew it had to be a lwb as I have had one before, and are very useful, so went onto ebay, found a drop side pick up (proper one) found it was 10 miles from my house, waited, inserted a bid, and low and behold, I now own it, and have been loving it ever since.

basic spec, 1.6 vit carb engine, running a very crude drill the block to meet the bottom gearbox holes up arangement, SPOA with what can only be described as the worst steering link bar i have ever seen, shock mounts in the wrong place, no extended bumpstops, or props or front brake lines, some pretty dodgy 80's ford seats that meant you have to be either tiny, or have a double ankle joint to operate the clutch.

anyway, here is a pic of the old girl, hope you like, if you know her, peep up, always like to know history of old cars.

Image

ok, well i am off to have a look and a read, and probably post another couple of pics of my old rides, see if anyone knows if they are still alive

keep it real

Ian

Hi :S: cottie

it has been a very useful little tool and hope to do some tasteful yet usefull mods on it (jimny PAS box sits in my garage on my other long time project) just need the vit pas pump and pulleys now for that to be fitted, also need to get a decent set of springs on the old girl.

Just went through all 30 pages of your build, nice bit of engineering with the YJ setup, that is going to be an awsome tool

Cheers matey, :doublethumbs: bet that took a while its a long ol' thread  I can't wait to get it finished and test them for the first time, they are soo soft and supple compared to the old ironmans.

So what's the other long term project you have hiding in the garage then?
