I've been reading through pages and pages of club members builds and thought I'd like to do one as well.. It won't be as grand as most on here as I'm newtoSJ's and newtooffroading but I'll have a go..
I bought my SJ in may '11 and joined the club a couple of days later..First pic.

Parked on my favourite green motorway :smokin:

My Sj had had a few bolt on improvements like pro comp 3000 shocks , llama 3 inch lift springs and some damn great big insa turbo special track tyres all these were brand new as was the alternator and the CB.

I think the wheels are from a Vitara?
One of the first things I noticed about driving an SJ is that the brakes are poo so I've fitted a rear disc conversion, I bought the mounting kit, got it second hand of ebay

and some crappy calipers that needed rebuiding

Rebuilt with all new genuine Suzuki seals and rubbers, braided hoses from David at Llama 4x4(nice bloke) and a coat of shiny black hamerite and jobs a good'n they work better, but that led to my next problems..... What I would call huge 31 inch tyres meant that the SJ wouldn't pull the skin off a rice pudding and the rear disc conversion meant I have no hand brake, so.. I bought these (once again thanks to David-Llama 4x4 as he dropped them off at my place) and they'll be in the post to Rockwatt very soon.

Looking good, I presume you are fitting defender arches by the profile of the rear arch cut outs?

If so then It might be easier to fab up complete new inner arches rather than tying to join it to your old inner arch?

like this

Yes.. I was thinking of that.. Might even go one step further and replace the whole boot floor.. You might remember me mentioning a checker plate boot floor on another post.

Edit.. Yes great big rubbery land rover arches

Hiya Bigben.. Don't mind at all, just don't go near the side gates as I have a puppy Image
Oh , and he weighs 8 stone now and has a bad temper.
Anyway do you smoke roll ups?
Cause I came home from work not so long ago and there's a roll up butt trodden by my anus.. Thought someone had been trying to nick it.. Been locking the gates ever since. If your in the area again and I'm in knock the door and have a cup of tea, we can swap notes

The springs do give extra lift but I've got home made shock extensions fitted as well... Image
Not sure if I should remove them?
