Me and my mate where out near ockley as we had found one or two byways along leith hill, when we came across a couple of vehicles one a landy bobtail with 33 on and the other a anus cheokee with 31 basically the two of them looked like mini monster trucks. The guys in them knew about a couple more that were only a couple of miles away in the village of shere along the A29. These routes were really intimadating as my zuki it pretty much standard and hear i was up against two very lifted jeeps som. There was one point were we both looked at each other as we watched the anus cheokee go at a angle i thought was not possible all i could do was fallow the leader at this point and pray that we didnt beach. little zuki has really opened my eyes at what there capable of, considering as at one point the landy got beached  were as my zuki just conquered it with no major pain had to laugh as this was my first time. Basically is there any one around the sussex/surry area wanting to help push me out the mud if it all goes pete tong

SJs are suprisingly good at off-roading as standard by reputation. I think the short wheelbase and hairly high clearance is key, along with the relative lightness compared to other 4x4s.

I'm in West Sussex if you get stuck, will need some petty money though, as it's still quite a way!

Hi Hugh, whereabout in w.s. are you from? I'm just outside worthing...

The bits around slindon aren't byways, and you will get in trouble!!!
Although saying that, there are some interesting woods that I ended up getting lost in just off Shellbridge road, north of slindon pits

Is yours a samurai? I've got wider tyres, and spacers, so should be ok :)

The front and rear axles on a Samurai are both wider than the 410/413...
The spacers and the 235s on mine end up with the wheels sticking just under an inch out of the arches, compared to my mates 410, it's like driving a low-slung sports car
