hi,
my temp and fuel gauges have stopped working i took the dash out and had a look all seems fine there ,any ideas?????

both gauges probably share a common earth or possibly a common connector plug which may be causing the problem - you haven't stated what the vehicle is. If it's a SJ410 I can look on my wiring diagram but otherwise that's as far as I can go.

I have the same problem on my 87 sj413. To be honest I do not even know where to start with them. I have an aftermarket fuel tank too, so how do I conmect a fuel gauge to his aftermarket item. Also where is the temp gauge located?

sorry i forgot to say its a 1990 samurai sj413 .

Fuses (dont know if they are fused) and earths would be my first point to call.

Does everything else work on it? lights on the dash, dash lights up ect.

Does sound like an earth to me.

Not sure what else to suggest other than try another set of dials.

You are going to have to get hold of a wiring diagram and trace the wiring by their colour codings - you should be able to see if the earth for these gauges is common to both or indeed a connector block. Alternatively you may have to remove the gauges and trace the wiring backwards to achieve the same thing.

I have wiring diagrams on my computer.
When I get home I will post them up.
