hi all. im chris, 24 from manchester. work as a parts advisor for a car spares shop...
just bought my first sj. awaiting to collect and pay for it of a guy thats been messing about for last few weeks but i know him...
the sj i got is a 410, been stood for a good 2 years now....

cool... plans are to keep as convertable but i want it as a pick up style.. ext roll cage and maybe spare mounted on top rather than on boot door. side exit/top exit exhaust and i was thinking about the spoa mod.
but before that i need to make sure it runs etc...
when people do the carb cinversion on the 410, what is the carb taken off as a donar?

,. looks like my lil 410 when I bought her....granted you have a bit more tin worm but that is easily sorted. figers crossed on the start up!

Welcome to the forum. So...... U work for a spares company. That'll be handy for u. Looks like a nice little proj to be getting on with. I always wanted a soft top but cud never find one when i had the cash to buy and no SJ was gona be as cheap as the one i got.
Get crackin with the grinder and welder son!

you want a HIF38 SU carb fitted with a red spring and a ADS needle
also dont mount the spare on the roof as that will make it top heavy, keep all weight as low as possible in a 4x4!

will be but when it comes to modding it ill be doing it mostly of ebay etc as we cant tend to get that stuff at work. but repairs etc brakes will be done from work.

cheers for advice, i was going to put it on angle at the back but ill leave it in the OE place then.
as for all the tin worm on it, ive never welded before. i have access to an arc welder and a mig welder.. which is more advisable to use, and what gague of steel/metal should i get/ would be advisable... how thick is needed?

MIG. Arc will melt the bodywork easy.
