vit 1.6 8v into a JAP 410 wiring
Coil/Dizzy
Make sure you are using a 1.3/1.6 coil. The 410 one with a ballast resistor is not suitable.
From loom the Black/White tracer goes to coil +
Rev counter (brown) if you have one goes to coil-
From dizzy Black/White tracer goes to coil+
From dizzy Brown/White tracer goes to coil-
Brown and Black/Green tracer from loom doesn't need to connect to anything at this end.
It’s wired up the same as a 1.3
Starter
+feed from battery to + terminal as usual
Black/Yellow tracer from loom to the spade terminal
Black/Green tracer from loom is not needed
Alternator
Uses the same colour wires as original
White/Yellow tracer to bolted +terminal
Black/white to Ignition live terminal on plug
White/red to Lamp terminal on plug.
Fuel stop solenoid on factory 1.6 carb
Usually a green connector on the carb but sometimes brown (There is also a idle up connector but this is not nneded, if the fuel stop connector is green this will be brown and vice versa)
Find an ignition live (black w/white tracer) and connect it to the black w/white tracer wire from the stop solenoid.
Then just earth the black wire if there is one.
Fuel stop solenoid can be ignored if running an SU carb.
