From browsing this forum the past few months i have noticed most of you fellas are what i affectionatly call southerners (other more PC terms are available). Altho i do use that term for anyone below the A66.

Im northern........ compared to some!
even if I do live in South Yorkshire and I'm a fair distance south of the a66, in fact i'd say Im closer to the a57,

Rotherham, just by junction 1 off the m18,
the best thing about living in rotherham is its too far north to be a cockney and to far south to be a jordi...... we just have normal accents around here, which are occasionally broad yorkshire-ish
