Picture today "Sammy" on the drive. Prayer mat is an old carpet runner I use, because at 81 I do feel the gravel particularly on my knees!!

Managed to shear off both bolts on the fuel feed cover so some work needed to rectify that.

To reply to ScottieJ's comments.

Number 6. Yes I had shown the transfer box / handbrake I purchased on a separate posting. For completeness will repeat the 'mud-trap' picture here. Effort in cleaning up has paid off and I have located replacement parts to rebuild the handbrake.

Numbers 11 and 12. Had treated myself to a replacement steering damper before I commited to a PAS system.

On a lighter note:-
When the replacement struts have not arrived yet, from "Strut Depot" and a solution needs to be found so I am not propping the rear door with my head. Years of design and construction experience, as a civil engineer, come to the fore and a solution is found.

Engineering solutions at their finest!!

Looks like a nice SJ. Have fun with the Resto!

Alloy wheels I am planning to fit.
Tomorrow they will be fitted with Hankook Dynapro ATm - 205/70 R15T tyres.
Existing tyres are cracked so hand went into pocket. :|

I spent about an hour yesterday removing, very carefully, the Scotchlock fittings around the rear bumper area. Condition of some wires is not very good.
Comparison between actual cables and the Spanish wiring diagram, I have showed up differences, so plan to drop the fuel tank and guard and get better access to the loom then. Sort out what goes where and what wiring is required for the towbar and additional lights I plan to add.

Transfer box handbrake system 95% cleaned up. Springs getting scrapped. Have purchased refurbished adjuster, new shoes and springs.

Had 'back-up'system in place, just in case.
