The floor pan hanging a bit below 50x100 sills is rarely an issue in my experience of doing it. Iā€™m probably going to do 50x100 when I carry on with rebuilding Blue.
I'd love to run 35s one day but thays gonna take some good axle work to handle them. And I hammered the inner sill round them most of the way, but the footwell sits a inch lower than them at the side closest to the seat.

Cheers chaps, thanks for confirming, I was sure I'd measured it a few years ago and concluded it sat lower... I suppose you could make up a 100 x 75 but then that's just extra weight and like you said, the angle to the chassis should protect that bit of footwell... I'll take a look if/when I ever get there!!!

I'll try start a thread some day, if nothing else with my thoughts and dreams and a pic of the rusty bugger!!..

Thanks

Fair enough!

I actually think I've got some 50 x 100 I got years ago for another Zook to form part of a roll cage... Will have a look sometime...

Finally got the power steering finished and the timing belt and water pump changed over. Old belt didn't look to bad but better safe than sorry. As im keeping the 1.3 i had to get a aftermarket pulley to suit the 4 bolt pattern.

Radiator and hoses all connected up now, most of the engine wiring connected up, still some wires to figure out tho. Ran the looms back along under car to where they where previously cut. One of the looms is for a old rear wiper and demister so can probably remove it as don't think I'm going to be able to find a rear window to suit the hardtop.

Got the car running for the first time today, didn't have any petrol so just with some brake cleaner, but was good to hear it fire up for the first time.
Brakes are all plumbed up and bled to, routed the battery wires over to the passenger side and I'm going to use the battery tray from my old primera once I get the front end welded and back on.

Another couple hours up the garage today. Got the front body mount repaired, the clip back on and cut what metal was left to the new height for the virtual lift.
