New anti-tampering law

Post by Rankine » Wed Dec 15, 2021 3:52 pm

Looks like the government is trying to stop modifications to cars
Wouldnt be handy for alot of us that use our cars on the road aswell as off

https://petition.parliament.uk/petitions/600954

Might have a chance to stop them if we can get enough signatures

This has been floating about on bike forums for a while now. It might happen but I would think only to new vehicles. On older cars/bikes some parts are no longer available so repro parts have to be used. Imagine making that illegal...a billion pound industry destroyed overnight. Or...if you do buy a new car/bike and decide to put better tyres/brake pads whatever. Your nicked sonny. Insane.
If it ticks over...leave it

:er: :er: From what I was reading the other day it pretty much just applies to tampering with emissions and noise levels, ie things like dpf deletes and loud exhausts. Guess it will probably include safety items as well.

I don’t think it’s as much to worry about as it looks.

Hopefully :er:

I still signed it and encourage every car person to.
