diesel?

im getting so fed up with my engine, im thinking of changing it, i want to put a diesel lump in if its gonna happen, anybody know what one to go for? the easiest option is preferred, and would like it to stay as light as pos, so maybe a 1.4or 1.5 would do. any thoughts or anybody done it?

i got a escort diesel in mine. connects to a mark2 escort gear box. u have to mod the starter and the clutch arm. not to bad to do. and spares r cheap. down side is if using on road will only do about 55mph as only 4 speed box. i only off road mine, and fuel consumption is great, runs all day on 10 litres

i have a spare 4 speed type 9 gearbox if you go down this route and cant find one.
