Wing mirror case

Hi guys,
Just wondering if anyone knows how to detach the rear casing off a wing mirror? My girlfriends 07 swift has had the rear case smashed off, I have bought a replacement mirror but wondered if it was possible to just replace the plastic case rather than for an entire wing mirror.
