Hello Guys ,
Got a 2016 Suzuki vitara 1.6L and its time for break pad replacement.

When i opened the break caliper i saw a V spring that sitting at the bottom of the caliper.

My question is what the purpose of that spring and how do i place the new break pads? before the spring or after?

Have you got a photo of said spring? Never done pads on a GV that late, but the general rule is put things back together the opposite way they came apart. At what point did you take the spring out?

Open up the other side and have a look in there

Yes, and when you pull the other side apart, take loads of photos so you know how to put it back together. Post the photos here and maybe we can help - but I don't think any of us have dealt with a Vitara of this generation.

I realised that those springs are for seperating the pads from the rotor but i dont know from where the knocking sound is coming all time when im breaking in reverse and slow speed...

Get someone to listen near each wheel as you reverse/brake and find out which wheel the noise is coming from. Don't assume that it's brakes, it could be a faulty wheel bearing (braking forces change the load on bearings), although it does sound like something is loose inside a brake drum or brake caliper to me.

If you have rear drums, then it could also be the handbrake automatic adjustment making that noise, if it's not working correctly.
