Our 2005 Vitara

Our beloved Honda CR-V was aggravating my already creaky left knee (driving posn + clutch pedal geometry) so we have bought 2 Automatic vehicles - pictured here is our 2005 Suzuki Vitara with a colossal 38,000 on the clock
We had an 05 diesel CR-V exec,it was fast, comfy and fairly economical but I found the ergonomics a little strange,it was even short of leg/foot room on the pax side but gutted to have to part with it - it was in lovely condition.
We had a quick trip down to Grimsby to look at the Suzi - it was a genuine 1 owner local car which had been part exed into the suzuki main dealer.Whilst waiting for the vitara to be MOT'd etc we visited the BBMF Hangar whilst down there and stayed overnight at the gorgeous Petwood Hotel,Woodhall Spa (used by 617 sqn as officers mess during WW2 - there is a pic of Guy Gibson out on the veranda up on the wall as well as lots of other art work etc).
We had planned the usual A1M,A66/M74 route for the return leg but the A66 ground to a halt (friday afternoon LOL) so we diverted onto a northbound back road up through Alston and the gorgeous Teesdale and took the backroads to Gretna before joining the M74,it was a lovely route home.
Since then I have carried out a basic service - Oil + Filter/Air Filter/Fuel Filter and as soon as the weather warms up a bit I will pull one of the spark plugs to check condition etc.
I would usually have taken the suzi to a localish beauty spot for pics but we have not had much spare time recently so took these pics yesterday at the gliding club.
