98 vitara issues

Hi guys I got the wifes 98 vitara soft top for her work (ok and so I can take it when I go shooting) any way it has been off the road 5 years and when I got it it was misfiring when cold but cleared when hot so we ran it a couple of days and one day it lost power so I went out and cleaned the rotor arm as it was black in the centre pick up area. And was fine again so I replaced the rotor arm and cap and leads as the rotor arm was not great and it has done a couple of hundred trouble free miles now then one day it lost power and wouldn't take the throttle . Started kangaroo petrol as she put it lol. (Didnt actually cut out) any thoughts ?? Its got a g16a engine but the cap and rotor arm that I changed were listed for a 16b engine but were identical to what I took off
