SU HS6 honest opinion needed!

hi guys, I know there is a thread on SU carbs but I did not really find anything on HS6. Here in NZ I am struggling to find a HIF44 carb and the one I have seen had a huge price tag which I was not prepared to pay. But I have come across a few HS6 carb which by the look of them are almost the same as the HIF44. So my question on here is has anyone actually tried the HS6 and know how it performs on the 1600 8valve engine? And would it be worth my while to pursue the use of this carb? It is only $40 NZD and it would not be too hard to make up adaptor to make it fit. Anyhow opinions would be greatly appreciated! Thanks Hamish!

The HS carbs don't handle steep angles as well as the HIF carbs but it'll still work.

What about Toyota 4K carbs? Are they easy to find? Seems to be a popular choice in the US.

The HS6 shouldnt be too bad but I would probably replace the hose between the float and the carb body just to be safe

If you're running a 1.6 the Toyota 4K carb would be a good way to go, I've just bought the 3k carb for my 1.3 and I'm just currently waiting on a manual choke cable to arrive then I'll let you know how it goes :D
