Replaced clutch due to slipping, new clutch also slipping?

On 1987 SJ410.
When we removed the old one, we noticed it didn't have much wear on it at all, but put the new one in anyway. It is slipping just as bad when it gets hot.
The clutch pedal does go all the way to the floor, but we tightened it as much as we could when fitting the arm back to the gearbox.
Any ideas on what could be causing this?

Checked all the brakes as well to make sure nothing is causing extra strain on the clutch?

Was it ok previously? Did it just start slipping suddenly?

We had a fiat that slipped all the time, I replaced the crankshaft seal, was leaking very slightly, and that sorted it

Sounds like you have tightened the clutch cable too much, there needs to be some free play 1-2cm at the pedal before the cable starts to go tight.
Either that or as said could be an engine crank seal oil leak or gearbox input, was there oil in the bellhousing and traces on the old clutch.

Also i hope you made sure the release bearing is free to move. If it is getting stuck the clutch will slip
