Kingpin bearings

hi gonna do these at the weekend whats the story with the shims. never done one before but hear the mention of shims in them is it shim as in one shim or a few shims and whats the theory behind putting shims in?

The only time this is normally a problem is when somebody has removed a shim to tighten a worn bearing.

I thought the jimny's used different shims?

Sorry, I assumed it was a SJ. Didn't think the Jimny used shims ??, not the official ones anyway. I do know you can get some round ones that help with the death wobble ;)

Edit: Well I've never seen official Suzuki shims but Martin does a kit if needed https://www.bigjimny.com/store/king-pin ... jimny.html

Don't need shims! Unless you replace them and it's still loose
