New to the forum so apologies if not up to knowledge, please don't bite . I own a 2004 Suzuki jimny 1.3 jlx, it is red with grey trim (including ball bars) and chrome detailing around mirrors etc. I love the car, now developed the 'death wobble', but I have chance to buy a new car, dilemma is do I stick with my Jimmy and do her up because we've been told Suzuki are no longer manufacturing them or do we upgrade? Will the jimny become a classic like the samurai which I also love? Help appreciated

Keep the Jimny, will be an easy fix, probably a wheel or kingpin Bering, bush or steering ball joint.

They still make Jimny's, - there's a new model scheduled for unveiling sometime in 2017, but by "new" we mean facelifted yet again, rather than "new".

Fairly glad they're not changing it, because these 2017 Jimny's will guarantee us a supply of offroad toys through to at least 2037!!!



Can't add much to what Robbie said. A full rebuild kit (if you know your way around a spanner) for the front axle is about £100 or so, and only takes a half decent mechanic a couple of hours.

Jimny's are good, and someone with a couple tools can replace the kingpin bearings, i've done mine and it's around an hours job. Better the devil you know!

Keep it. You know your Jimmy is a good one. Just because it needs a little tweak to sort out a wheel wobble I wouldn't sell it on. Newer car are loaded with electric this and electric that - which of course all break eventually. Jimmys are simple easy fix motors. That's my take on it.

I was reading recently that the Jimny death wobble is a known thing on Jimny's, especially on ones with aftermarket wheels. Suzuki released a fix kit for it, which is basically a set of shims for the kingpins, but bigjimny do a kit that is basically the same, just not at main stealer prices. Like, £3.50 instead of £70 or whatever.
