Advice and guide when buying a suzuki sj/samurai
Advice and guide when buying a suzuki sj/samurai
Evening to all!!
New to the club and currently do not have a suzuki :(.
Not through lack of trying though!
I appear to only attract sheds and bent MOT'S.
And so I wanted to seek some advice on how to check out a suzuki sj/samurai, what faults/issues to look out for, and perhaps even get in contact with somebody who may have the right suzuki for me!
Many thanks in advance!!
Danny
P.S. The samurai/413 I am looking for would be for general road use and greenlaning/mild offroading.

Rust, no matter how hard you look you will miss some so look everywhere 3 times and don't be afraid to poke

I'd looked at that page awhile ago to research the Sammy engine types. Didn't see the rest, very helpful thank you. How easy are rust patches to repair (I don't have any welding experience (yet)). I don't mind something that needs a little bit of work doing to it but don't want to take on too much. Are you able to post wanted ads on here? (Obviously after I have met the criteria to do so ).
TIA

Welding isnt that difficult but will probably cost £400 for a cheap mig, gas, accessories, etc.
SO worth it in the long run though, I've saved a fortune now from welding myself.

Might be something worth looking into, something I've wanted to learn for awhile .

Hi good luck with the search. I couldn't weld, but also couldn't afford to get my sills welded. I could afford a welder from machine mart and it didn't take long to learn and get to a standard that was good enough to pass a mot and keep the thing on the road.
It's also good to know it's one more thing that you can do and know you keep the car going

I've got family who can weld/own welding equipment so think it may be time to learn. . And thanks! It's taking a lot longer than I thought. How much should I be expecting to pay for a road worthy 413/Sammy with perhaps lift and bigger tyres?
