Post by lukey4x4 » Sun Aug 07, 2016 8:56 pm

hi guys sorry another shock and spring question , my sj is in painting stage ,nearly done so moving on to the next thing on the list so after abit of help on what to get, my sj is spoa and my suspension is lyk concrete nothing there at all rock hard go over a speed bump and u end up on the path lol , havnt bin offroading yet so not sure what be like am guessing worse , its recently just went through a mot after bin built and only going a mile from my garage to house to test and its bad enough , I was thinking in just changing the shocks first to see if that would help or not whats peoples thoughts best way to go, which size /makes shocks to get or softer springs , thanks

With SPOA it could be a multitude of issues. All depends how well it has been done.

Do you have a series of photos of the suspensuin mounts, springs, shocks, shackle angle?

Is there an anti wrap bar on the rear axle?

Ideally you want an anti wrap bar to prevent axle wrap distorting and bending springs.

Might be the photo but i don't see any bump stops either.

They are a solid ride normally. Might just seem very harsh as you're not used to it.

Richard Wattam could probably make you one if you can't make your own.

Hit a bump and you're all over?

As in it bounces a lot or darts across the road and you have to fight the steering to keep it straight?
